SASTHA
Sri Ayyappa Seva Trust (for) Holy Annadhanam, a charitable trust, shortly called as "SASTHA" is functioning from Kodambakkam in Chennai, since 2001.The trust was formed by three Engineers, M/s V. Balasubramaniam, G. Swaminathan and D. Santhanam with a firm belief that the service to the mankind is service to God. The trust has been carrying out various social welfare schemes such as providing Annadhanam, educational and medical assistance besides helping the marriage of poor girls.
The trust immediately on its formation got registered as a charitable trust in Chennai and its registration number is 98/2001. Further the exemption from income tax has been obtained from the Income tax Department for the donations received by the trust under section 80G of the Income Tax Act from 2002 onwards. Running an old age home and conducting periodical medical camps in the deserving areas are the long term objectives of the trust. Further the request for more educational assistance in particular and for medical assistance are increasing year after year.
The trust was initially running on the contributions of the founder members of the trust and like minded persons. In view of the commitment to fulfill the need of the eligible applicants and also to build up a substantial corpus to meet out its long term objectives of the trust it is conducting periodically cultural programes such as light music, dramas etc.
ANBAGAM
The Founder Mr. D. Santhanam is fully involved in running a Home for mentally challenged and differently abled children in Panangattupakkam near Vandalur for the past 14 years and this Home has been playing an active role in improving the living standards of the inmates. The Home has its own Physiotherapy Unit, providing systematic training to the children so as to improve their mobility. The ambience provides a home like atmosphere and the same is liked by the inmates resulting in a significant improvement in their skills. This Home has been recognized by the Government of India and included as a member of the National Trust.
